National Gallery of London - Chronicles of Emptiness is an over painted book, the book being "Art Treasures of the National Gallery London" by Sir Philip Hendy published by Abrams 1955. I have drawn painted and collaged into each page as well as working on the verso of many of the tipped in plates. It is my twentieth over painted book work. This work is a sketch book, a memoir, a journal and a conversation with history. I will be posting new images each day.

Semaphore the language of signs and signals...
This section of "Chronicles of Emptiness" is called Semaphore. The muse mimics the signals of semaphore sending out messages in relation to her historical past and the pictographs accompanying her. She reaches backwards and forwards to the artists of the world who are sending out signals, obscure and remote about their life experience. She muses on Gods and men trying to understand one another using sticks and flags to send messages across universal mountain tops in the hopes of some response.
