National Gallery of London - Chronicles of Emptiness is an over painted book, the book being "Art Treasures of the National Gallery London" by Sir Philip Hendy published by Abrams 1955. I have drawn painted and collaged into each page as well as working on the verso of many of the tipped in plates. It is my twentieth over painted book work. This work is a sketch book, a memoir, a journal and a conversation with history. I will be posting new images each day.

St. Jerome's Lion
Lying in the wilderness his heart was beset by demons.
Good old Saint "doctor" Jerome used his doctoring skills in translation and thorn removal only to be denied a papacy he may have hoped for. Being from Dalmatia one might think a spotted past may have been the cause. Pure speculation on my part, yet he was still afforded the companionship, and labours, of a great cat and, posthumously, the rank of ordinal, and a fine red hat. Ah well, like the sinful thorn, and death, I too laugh at his flaming problems!
